Reset + Rest

What a unique time we are in!

Many of us are finding ourselves traversing new territory with indefinitely disrupted schedules.  It is natural to feel “stressed” in uncertain times.

It’s important to acknowledge that no one knows how to navigate these waters. I hope we will choose to be gentle with ourselves and others.

While there is no right or wrong way to respond, we are all deciding how this affects our minds, hearts, and energy.

Consider:

You can decide how you react to this situation, and how you allow it to affect you.

For example, you do NOT have to stay connected to the news constantly. Obsessing and worrying does not change any outcome. It is non-productive. You have permission to look away.

Instead, explore ways of using this time in ways that benefit you.

For many this will be a time to connect, snuggle, organize, play, clear, clean, rest, accomplish, or reset.

Guarding your senses is guarding your immune system. Stress weakens immunity. Eyes and ears (and minds and hearts) are overwhelmed with constant drama, stimulation, and input. Set limits for your exposure to negativity. Allow compassion to be your filter, and trust to be your compass.

You can still be positive in the midst of chaos. Positivity can be useful in times like these, so I’m hoping to inspire you.

If you are one of the many finding themselves with new and unexpected time on their hands, make a list of things you’d like to do and see how many you can accomplish.

Stay hopeful and make the best of things!
