Giving

Exploring how and what we give.

How we give matters.

  • What do you give out of obligation or because you have to?

  • What do you give willingly because you are able and want to?

  • What do you give joyfully with enthusiasm and a joyful heart?

Giving opens the door to receiving.

Be a Blessing.

Give WHat You Can

  1. Donate - time, money, items, skills, etc.

  2. Give anonymously - “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:3

  3. Secret surprise - Secretly surprise someone with an unexpected gift.

  4. Prayers - When you don’t know what else to do, say an uplifting prayer.

  5. Break Bread - Share food, a meal, or a tradition.

  6. Invest in the future of giving - Help the children in your life experience the feeling of giving and generosity.

WHO AND HOW CAN I HELP?

You cannot bypass suffering.

Most of us come screaming into this world.

Some come in conditioned to suffer

or are born into difficult conditions.

Whether you witness the suffering of another

or experience it yourself,

suffering is an aspect of life.

You can try to deny it.

You can turn a blind eye to it

and pretend it is not there,

but make no mistake,

suffering is a part of life.

It is a reflection

of unhealed, unloved, untended

parts of humanity,

and until we are willing

to look another in their eyes and ask,

“How can I help meet your needs?,”

there will continue to be suffering.
