WINTER SKIN

It’s that time of year again…. dry skin season.

Low humidity, less frequent rainfall, and seasonal changes can leave our skin feeling thirsty, itchy, and dull.

No Need to Suffer

With a little extra care and attention, you can keep well-hydrated skin year round.

5 products that support winter skin:

Water.

Dry skin can be a sign of mild dehydration. Drinking more water and consuming hydrating foods can help achieve well-hydrated skin. Try foods like cucumber, watermelon, and chia seeds.

Facial Masks.

I love using masks for their nourishing minerals. They can help restore and refresh depleted winter skin.

A Favorite Skincare Tip: Be sure to wash the mask off before it completely dries so it doesn’t pull moisture out of your skin.

This mask below is a beautiful blend of kaolin, pink clay, and Moroccan clay.

If you’d like to shop for high quality, mostly organic, and sustainable skincare ingredients, I have an affiliate account with one of my favorite suppliers, Mountain Rose Herbs.

Hydrating toner.

Spritz your face with rose water or a hydrating toner several times throughout the day, and especially before applying a moisturizer. Some toners can even be used to set your make up. I use Rose Floral Water or Rose Hydrosol. It’s ultra-nourishing for the skin and has anti-aging benefits.

Hydrating oils.

Heavier oils can be used in the winter to help quench dry skin. I prefer avocado for the body, and sweet almond and rosehip oils for the face in the drier months. You can even use oil in place of water for mixing your mask. Mountain Rose Herbs is a socially conscious supplier of facial and body oils.

Cool mist humidifier.

If your skin is chronically dry, consider running a cool mist humidifier while you are sleeping. It will help keep your skin and hair at more ideal moisture levels.

Your lungs will also thank you.

This is the cool mist humidifier I use. It’s quiet, has auto shut-off, and can be used with essential oils.
