‘Tis the season of the senses.
Indulge a little.
when I looked up the definition of “Indulge,” I found words like: excessive, lenient, generous, considerate, and luxurious.
I WONDERED:
How lenient are you with yourself?
How generous?
How much consideration do you give your own NEEDS VERSUS OTHER’S needs?
HOW MUCH LUXURY DO YOU ALLOW IN YOUR LIFE?
ENJOY 10 SIMPLE (NOT NECESSARILY EXTRAVAGANT) Indulgent Forms of Self-Care
Breathe. Take time to slow down. Enjoy deep, relaxing breathing for as long as you’re willing.
Legs up the wall. Recline on the floor, and prop your legs up the wall. Holding the legs over the heart let’s the body know it’s safe to relax.
Enjoy a spoonful of honey or a piece of dark chocolate. Savor slowly.
Take a walk somewhere beautiful.
Laughter and joy are delicious. They are instant medicine.
Dry brush with a luxurious body oil, or try a self-massage.
Stretch, dance, move. Get the blood flowing!
Disconnect. Spend time enjoying no electronic devices.
Touch. Connect through hug, massage, hand-holding, etc.
List the love. Write a list of all of the ways you love to enjoy life, and make a regular plan to do more.
